🌱 A returning event at Locust Valley High 🌱 — WiSE cherished our continued relationship with Locust Valley High School. This March, Dr. Marcela Tello-Ruiz (photoed in the middle) from the Ware Lab at CSHL gave a STEM presentation for the Spanish Heritage Club at Locust Valley High School. She talked about genetic ancestry, how to relate to our roots and traditional festivals that involve agricultural and horticultural crops from Latin America, including a demo of local candies. Shown in the picture on the left is “Pinole”, considered a superfood made out of cornmeal.
