CSHL WiSE is hosting the 2nd Annual Real Stories of Science Open Mic on April 18, 6:30 PM. It will be hosted by Kyle Marian, science communicator and comedian.
The goal of the event is to de-stigmatize struggle and failure in the scientific community. To do so, we have graduate students, post-docs, and faculty bravely share personal stories of overcoming difficulties in and out of the lab in a non-judgmental, safe, and supportive setting. There is no “correct” story, and it can be in any shape or form you feel most comfortable with – whether it be a poem, a stream-of-consciousness reading, or even a song. We will also be reading anonymously-submitted stories.
This will be our second time holding such an event and you can learn more about our first one here.
